The trial began "WikiLeaks suppliers"

The trial of the American soldier, Bradley Manning, who is accused of providing hundreds of thousands of classified documents to the U.S. Wikileaks website, launched today - three years after his arrest, RFE broadcasts.

In the first statement before the military court, Manning has pleaded guilty to ten charges, but not the most serious - the charge of aiding the enemies of the United States.

If convicted of this charge, 25-year-old could be sentenced to life imprisonment.

From November 2009 until his arrest in May 2010, Manning allegedly gave WikiLeaks 700,000 documents, including diplomatic cables from around the world and reports on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
